The Sejmik of the Voivodeship is the decision making and controlling body  of the voivodeship with a 5-year term of office, starting from the date of the election. The Sejmik of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship consists of 51 councillors elected in direct elections. The rules and the order of the election to the Sejmik are contained in the relevant law concerning self-governance.

The Sejmik’s sessions

Sessions are called by the Chairman of the Sejmik when necessary,  but  at least once a quarter. The announcement concerning calling of a session should include a draft agenda, drafts of resolutions and other documents connected with the draft agenda. The Sejmik ussually gathers on Mondays. Each point of the agenda is discussed during the session, unless the Sejmik decides differently.
